IFB President encouraged by House farm bill movement

The Illinois Farm Bureau president says passage of a new farm bill is still possible this year.  

Brian Duncan tells Brownfield the House bill has some positives.

“Encouraging in this farm bill, we see some increase in reference prices and some modernization that reflect inflation.”  He says, “We see a fix to the question of interstate commerce that was raised by Prop. 12 in California. And so, there’s a lot to like here.”

Despite the positive momentum, he says there’s still a lot of work to do.
