Central Illinois farmer calls ’24 planting a learning experience

A central Illinois farmer says the 2024 planting season has been a learning experience.

“We actually planted some beans at the end of March. I wish I would have just kept going.”

Piatt County farmer Jake Lieb tells Brownfield his early planting experiment was a success.

“Well, we got a new bean planter and I got like a little three acre patch right next to the shop I planted.”  He says, “I was just gonna plant the three acre patch and then that turned into 40.
