Cattle futures close lower Thursday

Chicago Mercantile Exchange live and feeder cattle futures were lower ahead of this week’s widespread direct business. Feeders had additional pressure from the gains in corn. August live was down $.40 at $177.47 and October was $.65 lower at $179.65. August feeders were $1.97 lower at $252.85 and September was down $2.10 at $254.10.

Cash cattle country had some live bids on Thursday at $184 to $185 in Kansas and Texas, and $188 in Nebraska, but so far those bids have been passed.
