April corn for ethanol use, soybean crush down on month

Corn for ethanol numbers were mixed in April.

The USDA says 416.92 million bushels of corn were used for ethanol production during April 2024, a drop of 12% from March partially due to seasonal maintenance, but up 1% from April 2023.

Production of distillers dried grains with solubles was 1,756,396 tons, a decrease of 9% on the month, but an increase of 8% on the year.

Even with the month-to-month decline, corn for ethanol use remains on pace to meet or exceed USDA projections for the current marketing year.
