An unseasonably cool, wet pattern ahead to dominate much of the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of below-normal temperatures across the northern and central Plains, Midwest, and Northeast, while hotter-than-normal weather will prevail across much of the West and Deep South. Meanwhile, near- or above-normal rainfall across most of the country should contrast with drier-than-normal conditions in the Pacific Northwest.
