A seasonally warm to hot, heat & rainfall ahead for the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for near- or above-normal temperatures nationwide, except for cooler-than-normal conditions from southern California to the western panhandle of Texas.  Meanwhile, the entire country should experience near- or above-normal rainfall, with parts of the Southwest having the greatest likelihood of experiencing wet weather.
