A seasonally active pattern to continue for much of the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for near- or above-normal temperatures nationwide, with California and the Desert Southwest having the greatest likelihood of experiencing warmer-than-normal weather.  Meanwhile, near- or above-normal precipitation across much of the country should contrast with drier-than-normal conditions from central and southern California to the southern High Plains.
