A range of weather, temps ahead for the New Year across the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures and precipitation nearly nationwide.  Colder-than-normal conditions will be confined to the lower Great Lakes region and the Northeast. Meanwhile drier-than-normal weather should be limited to an area stretching from the southern Plains into parts of the Midwest.
