A change in weather for the Heartland to seasonal cold, precipitation by the New Year

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures nationwide, except for cooler-than-normal conditions across Florida’s peninsula.  Meanwhile, below-normal precipitation across much of the southern half or the country should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather in southern Texas and much of the northern U.S.
