90% of Ohio’s corn has been planted

The end of the planting season is in sight for Ohio farmers after weather has delayed progress.

According to the latest crop progress and conditions report from the USDA, ​90 percent of corn has been planted, an 11 percent jump on the week and ​13 percent ahead of the 5-year average. 73 percent of the crop has emerged.  Soybeans are ​79 percent planted, up 1​2 percent on the week and 13 ​percent ahead of the 5-year average.  ​62 percent of the crop has emerged.  
 
Winter wheat is ​96 percent headed and is 71 percent good to excellent.
