A northwest Iowa mother, accused of helping her son flee the country after stealing 20-thousand dollar earrings, is asking for her bond to be lowered. Nineteen-year-old Ali Younes was out on bond after being charged with attacking a woman on the University of Iowa campus and stealing her earrings.
Police say his parents, Lima and Alfred, cut off his GPS-monitoring ankle bracelet while he was under house arrest in O’Brien county and drove him to Chicago, where he flew to Jordan.
Lima is asking for her bond to be lowered from 25-thousand dollars.
Alfred and Lima Younes were both arrested May 9th. Alfred was taken into custody while attempting to board a flight at the Omaha airport; Lima Younes was arrested in Orange City.
