GPAC women’s tennis All-Conference teams announced

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced the Women’s Tennis All-Conference selections for 2023.

Renee Acena from College of Saint Mary has been named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women’s Tennis Player-of-the-Year, while Bruno Campos from Midland and Alex Struck from Morningside are the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women’s Tennis Co-Coaches-of-the-Year.

Four Red Raiders earned honorable mention accolades for their performances this season.

Julia Anderson – Honorable Mention, Singles

Anderson (So., Rapid City, S.D.) earned Honorable Mention All-Conference accolades for the second-straight season after compiling a 7-10 record, mostly in the No. 3 slot for the Raiders.

Hannah Beckloff – Honorable Mention, Singles

Beckloff (Fr., Rapid City, S.D.) was one of two freshmen in the Northwestern lineup this season, earning All-Conference accolades with her six wins.

This year marks the first-career All-Conference selection for Beckloff.

Olya Furmanova – Honorable Mention, Singles

A first-year Raider, Furmanova (Fr., Minsk, Belarus) spent most of the season at the No. 1 slot. She posted six wins in her debut season and was also on a doubles team that went 9-8.

Furmanova makes her first-career appearance on the All-Conference list in her freshman season.

Wynne Vandersall – Honorable Mention, Singles

Vandersall (Sr., Martelle, Iowa) finished the season on a high note, going 6-1 in GPAC play and winning ten of her last 11 singles matches. She posted an overall singles record of 12-5, going 11-4 in the No. 4 slot.

For Vandersall, it is her third-career All-Conference honor for singles after receiving Honorable Mention accolades in 2021 and 2022. She also was a Second Team doubles selection in 2022.
