Habitat For Humanity Groundbreaking in Sioux Center

Siouxland Habitat for Humanity will be breaking ground for their next Sioux County Habitat home. The community is invited to attend at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 21 at 1436 11th Ave NE.

After completing the required application and screening process the Martinez family was selected to be the Partner Family for this house. Nancy and her six children will be alongside Habitat staff every step of the way working to complete the mandatory sweat equity and build their future home.

“We have been extremely blessed by the support and partnerships we have in Sioux County and are excited to be building again in Sioux Center,” said Shayla Becker, Executive Director of Siouxland Habitat for Humanity. “We recently had a Partner Family move into their home in Alton and will soon have a Partner Family move into the Habitat home in Hospers.”

“This is truly a community build so we invite everyone to join us in praising God for making this possible and asking His blessing on what is ahead for this family and home. We are grateful to the Sioux Center community for supporting Habitat’s mission”, said Kurt Franje, Habitat’s Sioux County Director.

“To become a permanent part of a Habitat home, community members or groups can “Sponsor-a-Stud”. With a $100 donation Habitat provides a 2×4 framing stud to decorate with inspirational messages, pictures, bible verses, or signatures,” said Becker.

Construction on this home will begin in early May. If you would like to volunteer, donate, or Sponsor-a-Stud in Sioux Center, contact Kurt Franje, 641.780.9054 or email Kurt at: kfranje@siouxlandhabitat.org.
