West Sioux Voters Reject Bond Issue

Voters in the West Sioux school district have rejected a $14.9 million bond issue to construct additions, furnish additions, and make other improvements, primarily at the Ireton and Hawarden elementary school buildings. 58.5% of the 648 voters voted for the bond – 60% is needed for passage

In the South O’Brien school district, voters approved a $26 million bond issue with 61.8% of the 1094 voter approving. That will allow the district to work on an industrial arts facility, an agriculture facility, an auxiliary gym with limited seating, a community fitness center, a high school office suite, and a science wing in Paullina and includes renovating the Primghar gym into a fine arts theater.

Voters in the city of Doon approved a $1.5 million bond issue for a new community center with more than 75% voter approval. 210 voters turned out for the Doon election.
