Two Arrested After Speeding Vehicle is Stopped

Two people were arrested early Friday morning after authorities stopped a speeding vehicle on Highway 60 near Hospers. 

 

During the investigation, deputies noticed the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.  Authorities discovered a container that had a green leafy substance that later tested positive for THC, and drug paraphernalia.  33-year-old Kari Kunst, and 33-year-old Philex Stewart, both of Mora, MN, were arrested; deputies also suspected Stewart was under the influence of marijuana.

Both Kunst and Stewart were brought to the Sioux County Jail where they were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. Additionally, Stewart was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

 

Both were released after posting bond, Stewart posted a $2,000 bond, Kunst a $1,000 bond.
