Qualifiers for the 2022 NAIA Women's Volleyball Championship & Opening Round Pairings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The No. 8-ranked Northwestern College volleyball team (21-7, 11-5 GPAC) received an at-large berth to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) women’s volleyball national tournament, earning a first-round host bid, the national office announced this morning.

The Raiders will play host to Philander Smith College (Ark.) (22-9, 12-3 GCAC) out of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC). The Panthers earned an automatic berth after winning the GCAC conference tournament, after going 12-3 in league play this season. On the season, the Panthers have compiled a 9-3 record away from their home floor.

For the third consecutive season, Northwestern will play host in the Opening Round. The last two seasons have seen the Red Raiders down (RV) Trinity Christian (2020) and IU-Kokomo (Ind.) (2021) in straight sets. The Red Raiders are making their 18th all-time appearance in the national tournament, and their sixth-straight appearance under head coach Kyle Van Den Bosch.
