Drivers Escape Injury In Semi vs. Car Crash

No injuries were reported when a semi-truck and car collided at an intersection west of Sioux Center Monday afternoon.
According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at 3:30 Monday at the intersection of Garfield Avenue and 390th Street, two miles west of Sioux Center.
16-year-old Jessi Rus of Rock Valley, was driving a Ford Fusion southbound on Garfield Avenue. 60-year-old Brian Lamfers of Rock Rapids, was driving a Peterbilt semi-truck eastbound on 390th Street. Rus failed to yield from the stop sign, entered the intersection and the two struck.
No injuries were reported.
Rus’ Ford sustained about $15,000 in damage, while the Peterbilt sustained about $12,000 in damage.
Rus was cited for failing to yield from a stop sign.
