UPDATE: MMCRU School Bus Accident

A driver of a semi-truck failing to stop at a stop sign led to the crash involving an MMCRU School bus early Thursday morning.
According to a news release issued by the Iowa State Patrol, at 7:34 Thursday morning, a semi-truck driven by 61-year-old James Nieuwenhuis of Hospers, was traveling northbound on F Avenue and failed to stop at a stop sign. The truck entered the intersection at 470th Street in front of a westbound MMCRU school bus.
The bus struck the right side of the trailer and both vehicles partially entered the ditch northwest of the intersection.
Three of the students in the bus were checked for minor injuries and the bus driver, 62-year-old Leslie Pedersen of Cleghorn, was transported to Cherokee Regional Medical Center for minor injuries.
