For the second time this year, A proposed 25-million-dollar bond issue in the Rock Valley Community School district has failed to meet the required 60-percent majority for passage.
Voters in the Rock Valley community school district were at the polls Tuesday to decide a proposed 25-million-dollar bond issue to address the schools’ space and capacity needs.
The proposal was being brought back before voters after it failed last March.
Once again a majority of people voted to approve the measure, but it did not meet the 60-percent threshold. Unoofficial results from the Sioux County Auditors office show that 712 votes were cast in favor of the measure, for 57.61-percent. 524 people voted against the proposal, 42.39-percent.
