ORANGE CITY, Iowa – College Football America (CFA) magazine by Road Trip Sports released their 2022 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Starting Lineup. This year’s preseason team featured three Red Raiders, the most of any NAIA school.

CFA’s Starting Lineup is their version of a preseason All-American team. Northwestern athletes named to the team include wide receiver Cade Moser, linebacker Parker Fryar, and defensive back Noah Van’t Hof.

Moser (Sr., Rock Valley, Iowa), a 2021 Second Team All-American in 2021, returns to lead a potent, high powered Raider offense. A season ago, the Rock Valley native led the team in receptions (81), receiving yards (1,504), and receiving touchdowns (21). His receiving touchdowns mark sat second in the nation, just one behind first-place. He averaged over 100 yards receiving per game to pace the explosive pass game. He currently sits second in program history in receiving touchdowns (38), receptions (186), and receiving yards (3,381).

Joining Moser as a Second Team All-American, and earning a spot-on CFA’s 2022 Starting Lineup, Van’t Hof (Sr., Lester, Iowa). He sat second on the team in tackles (78), only behind fellow Starting Lineup honoree Fryar. He recorded four quarterback hurries along with one interception.

Fryar (So., Waukee, Iowa) earned NAIA Honorable Mention Honorable Mention a season ago for the Red Raiders. For the second-straight season, his first two in the program, Fryar led the team in tackles notching over 100 each year. He had 109 tackles last season, which sat fifth in the GPAC. He was also a force in the passing game having four pass break-ups and three quarterback hurries, while having one interception.

The three Raiders were featured along with four other Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) teams, with Morningside the only other league team to have more than one athlete named with two. Concordia (Neb.), Doane, and Dordt (OL Alex Huisman, Sr.), all had one athlete earn recognition.

Red Raider fall camp gets underway in early August as Northwestern prepares for their Week 1 visit to Morningside in Sioux City on September 3.
