Four people were injured in a Wednesday evening crash in Sioux Center.  Investigators say that about 6:00pm, a crash involving two vehicles occurred at the corner of Highway 75 and 20th St. near Pizza Hut.

16-year-old Blake Joffer of Rock Valley was northbound on Highway 75, and was attempting to turn west onto 20th St. SW.  Joffer reported two vehicles on the inside lane southbound, that were attempting to turn east on 20th St. SE, and that his line of sight was blocked by the two vehicles.  He states he thought he had a clear path and started turning which put him in the path of a vehicle driven by 45-year-old Carie Rus of Sioux Center, who was southbound on Highway 75.

Rus reported that she moved from the inside to the outside lane to get around turning vehicles.

A friend took Joffer to Sioux Center Health. A passenger in the Joffer vehicle, 66-year-old Joan Groeneweg, as well as Rus were taken to Sioux Center Health by Sioux Center Ambulance.  A passenger in the Rus vehicle, 16-year-old Ashli Rus, was taken to the hospital by her father.

Joffer was charged with failure to yield upon left turn.
