Van Kekerix named offensive MVP for North in Shrine Bowl

CEDAR FALLS — Iowa’s high school football All-Star game, The Iowa Shrine Bowl All-Star Classic, was played on Saturday at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls. This year’s game was the 50th edition of the game which features football players, coaches, and cheerleaders from across the state.

BHRV's Landyn Van Kekerix garnered offensive MVP honor's for the North squad which won the game over the South 24-17. Van Kekerix led the North with two rushing touchdowns along with a 22-yard reception.

A three-star commit from Rock Valley, Van Kekerix, enjoyed the opportunity to play offense one last time before becoming a full-time linebacker at Iowa.

A tradition since 1972, the Iowa Shrine Bowl is an all-star football game recognizing senior athletes and coaches across the State of Iowa. Funds raised benefit Shriners' Children.
