The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest early Monday morning after investigating an accident two miles west of Sioux Center.  The investigation revealed that around 10:15 Sunday night, 19-year-old Cole Haverhals of Hawarden was driving a Ford Mustang westbound on 390th Street when he lost control, entered the south ditch, and rolled.

Both Haverhals and a passenger were brought to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.  Upon further investigation, deputies suspected that Haverhals was under the influence of alcohol.

After his release from medical care, Haverhals was transported to the Sioux County Jail where he was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.  Haverhals was released after posting a $1,000 bond.

The Mustang sustained about $20,000 in damage.
