One Injured in Train vs Car Accident

360th Street, between highway 75 and Grant Avenue, north of Sioux Center, was closed for several hours Monday afternoon after an accident occurred involving a train and car. The call came in about 3:25 with a report of a vehicle that hit a train at the 360th Street crossing two-miles north of Sioux Center.
20-year-old Elizabeth Blum of Rock Valley, was driving westbound on 360th Street when she failed to yield to a train traveling southbound on the BNSF Railway and the two struck in the railroad crossing.
Blum was taken to Sioux Center Health for treatment of minor injuries. The 2007 Buick Rainier Blum was driving sustained about $10,000 in damage.
Blum was cited for failing to stop at a railway crossing.
