Sioux County authorities arrested a Hull man early Sunday morning after responding to a report of an assault.
While investigating the report, Sioux County Sheriff Deputies learned that 31-year-old Gabriel Mendez-Martin assaulted a female victim during a dispute at a residence on Walnut Street in Hull.
Authorities say Mendez-Martin left the residence after the assault, but was located by deputies a short time later driving a vehicle on Chestnut Street. Mendez-Martin was arrested and taken to the Sioux County Jail where he is charged with domestic assault, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (second offense), operating a motor vehicle with a revoked driver’s license, no SR-22 insurance (a type of insurance for high-risk drivers) and an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
The victim refused medical attention.
