2020 NAIA Women’s Volleyball All-Americans

Sioux Center, Iowa —The 2020 NAIA Women’s Volleyball All-Americans have been announced. and three players from Northwestern, and two Dordt Defenders have been recognized for their play.

Northwestern seniors Lacey Reitz, and Anna Wedel were both named first team All-Americans. Senior Makenzie Fink was an honorable mention pick.

Earning first team All-American honors for the third time was two time GPAC Player of the Year Anna Wedel. Wedel ranked third in the GPAC in kills per set, hit .243 and averaged 2.8 digs per set. She totaled 19 double-doubles, had three matches with 20+ kills, and finishes with 1,338 kills, 10th most all-time.

Also earning first team All-American honors for the third time was two time GPAC Setter of the Year Lacey Reitz. The four-time all-conference selection ranked sixth in the NAIA with 11.2 assists per set and directed a Raider offense that had the 3rd best hitting percentage. Reitz totaled 10 double-doubles and had 15 matches with 40+ assists. She finishes with 5,359 career assists, 2nd most all-time.

Earning All-American honorable mention for the second time was four time GPAC All-Conference Makenzie Fink. Fink ranked sixth in the NAIA in hitting percentage at .352 and hit for double figures in 15 matches. She had one match with 20+ kills and finished with 1,260 career kills, 12th most all-time.

Dordt Sophomore Brenna Krommendyk has been named first-team honoree after averaging 2.48 kills per set with a .391 kill efficiency. Krommendyk also led the team with a 1.41 blocks per set average that ranked fourth in the NAIA. Krommendyk was also named first-team all-GPAC this fall and she was named the Defender of the Tournament at the NAIA National Championship where the Defenders finished in the semifinal round of the field with an 18-7 mark. Krommendyk was also named the National Defender of the Year as well.

Alli Timmermans, a Senior from Orange City, is an honorable mention honoree from the NAIA after averaging 2.57 kills per set with a .342 kill efficiency. Timmermans also averaged just under a block per set for the Defenders. She was named to the all-tournament team at the NAIA National Championship after averaging over three kills per set in Dordt’s five National Championship matches.
