Black Walnut Icebox Cookies

1 Cup Brown Sugar

1 Cup Shortening

3 Eggs

4 Cups flour, 1 Cup of the 4 held in reserve.

1 cup of black walnuts

1 tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda


Take your sugars and shortening into a bowl, add eggs, then slowly add flour, add walnuts, salt and baking soda. 

Take your reserved cup of flour, and pour onto counter. Take your dough and roll into flour on the counter with a rolling pin. Once rolled, cut in half and roll into a log.

Place rolled dough onto wax paper and place in the fridge overnight.  

Pre-heat oven to 350. Cut dough into pieces, place pieces onto cookie sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes.
