Northwestern Earns No.3 Seed; Hosts Midland in GPAC Quarterfinal

The Northwestern College women's basketball team is the No.3 seed in the upcoming 2021 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) women's basketball postseason tournament, presented by Cypress Risk Management.

Northwestern finished the regular season in third place, going 16-6 in conference play, one game in back of No.2 seed Concordia. The Raiders will host No.6 seed Midland in the GPAC Quarterfinals on Wednesday night, Feb. 24, at 6pm. The winner will advance to play either No.2 Concordia (Neb.) or No.7 Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) in the conference semifinals on Saturday, Feb. 27 at the highest seed. 

The top half of the bracket pits top seed Morningside against No.8 Jamestown with the winner moving on to play either No.4 Briar Cliff or No.5 Dordt. 

The GPAC Championship game will be on Tuesday, March 2.

Northwestern is 1-1 against Midland this season with each team winning on the road. Midland downed the Raiders 80-74 on Nov. 21 while Northwestern avenged that loss with a 70-56 road win on Jan. 30.
