One Hospitalized After Tuesday Accident North of Sioux Center

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office responded to an accident that occurred at the intersection of Highway 75 and 360th Street, two miles north of Sioux Center, Tuesday afternoon.
34-year-old Nicholas Vande Kieft of Sioux Center was northbound on Highway 75 when he stopped to yield for oncoming vehicles before attempting to turn left onto 360th street. That’s when 60-year-old David Cameron of Herman, NE, who was also driving north on Highway 75, struck Vande Kieft on the roadway in his Jeep Compass.
Vande Kieft was transported by Sioux Center Ambulance to Sioux Center Health for treatment of minor injuries. A passenger in the Chevrolet sought medical attention on his own.
Cameron was cited for following too close.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Sioux Center Police Department, Sioux Center Fire Department and Sioux Center Ambulance.
