For the second time StateUniversity.com has ranked Northwest Iowa Community College #1 Safest College in Iowa. This is out of all the colleges in Iowa including all 3 Regent Universities and private 4-year colleges and universities.

According to their website, “To compile the list, StateUniversity.com utilized Clery and FBI data to analyze 1,585 colleges and universities to assign safety ratings. The assigned ratings are based on the following criteria: the number of weapon occurrences, drugs, burglary, vehicle theft, arson, larceny, robbery, forcible and non-forcible rape, murder and non-negligent manslaughter, and aggravated assault. Campus crime statistics are accounted per 100 students. The campus crime statistics published on StateUniversity.com are compiled from crime reports submitted by college/university law enforcement between January 1 and December 31, 2019.”

Mark Brown, Vice President of College Operations & Finance, stated, “NCC has always taken the health, wellness, and safety of our students very seriously. NCC earned an A+ in safety from Niche.com and this is the second time NCC has been ranked as the Safest College in Iowa by StateUniversity.com. We are very alert to safety on campus and as a campus community are continually assessing and discussing best practices and exploring strategies we can implement to make the campus the safest we can for students, employees, and visitors alike.
