Cherokee Man Arrested After Accident Near Sioux Center

A Cherokee man was arrested after an accident late Sunday afternoon near Sioux Center.  The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated the accident at around 5:48 Sunday evening on 390th St., one mile east of Sioux Center.

34 year-old William Sisemore of Cherokee was driving east on 390th in a GMC Yukon when he lost control of the vehicle and entered the south ditch.  Sisemore was not injured, but his vehicle sustained about $2,000 in damage.

During the investigation, deputies determined Sisemore’s driver’s license was barred, they also discovered illegal drugs in his possession and suspected he was under the influence of alcohol.

Sisemore was arrested and transported to the jail where he was charged with third offense operation of a motor vehicle while intoxicated, possession of methamphetamine, driving a motor vehicle while driver’s license barred and no insurance.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Sioux Center Police Department.
