Grain Bin Accident Claims Life in Plymouth County

Authorities say a man has died after being pulled into a grain bin near Le Mars, Iowa.
The Plymouth County Sheriff's Office says at about 9:50 a.m. Tuesday they received an emergency call of a man trapped in a grain bin. The sheriff's office says the grain bin was located about five miles east of Le Mars.
Authorities say when they arrived on the scene they learned a 65-year-old male had been inside the grain bin loosening the stuck corn. The individual had safety measures in place but was still pulled into the corn when the crust broke.
When fire units arrived they began a rescue operation, but it was unsuccessful. The body of the victim was recovered at 10:50 a.m.
The name of the victim has not been released.
