Boyden Resident Cited in Semi vs Auto Accident in Hull

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated an accident Saturday morning at the intersection of Highway 18 and Main Street, in Hull.
The accident involved a Ford Escape driven by 16 year-old Ellie Woelber, of Boyden. Woelber was travelling southbound on Main Street in Hull, then stopped for the stop sign at the intersection with Highway 18. 50 year-old Brian Baker of Rock Rapids was driving a Peterbilt semi-tractor northbound on Main Street. He also stopped for the stop sign at Highway 18. Baker continued north through the intersection as Woelber attempted to turn east and the two struck.
No injuries were reported. The Ford Escape sustained approximately $12,000 in damage. The Peterbilt sustained an estimated $1,500 in damage.
Woelber was cited for failure to yield upon making a left turn.
