Monday Morning Accidents - Two Injured

Two Monday morning accidents send two people to the hospital. At 3:36 this morning, the Sioux County Sheriffs Office investigated an accident on 380th Street, two miles west of Sioux Center.

15 year-old Aubrey Votrobeck of Sioux Center was driving a GMC Envoy westbound on 380th Street when she lost control of the vehicle, entered the north ditch, struck a field driveway, culvert and rolled. Votrobeck was ejected from the vehicle.

Votrobeck and a female passenger were both transported by private vehicle to Sioux Center Health for treatment of minor injuries.

The GMC sustained approximately $5,000 in damage, and the accident remains under investigation.

Then at 7:51 this morning, the Sioux County Sheriffs Office investigated a commercial vehicle accident two miles northwest of Hull on Highway 75.

23 year-old Jordan Miller of Chancellor, SD was driving a Kenworth pulling a flatbed trailer loaded with concrete slabs southbound on Highway 75. As Miller drove under the BNSF Railway overpass, the concrete slabs struck the overpass. No injuries were reported. The overpass sustained an estimated $25,000 in damage; the concrete slabs sustained approximately $2,000 in damage.
