Chase Scheidegger (Rockwell City, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College this fall.

Scheidegger is a 5'10", 165-pound safety / wide receiver who played four years for the South Central Calhoun High School football team. Scheidegger compiled 37.5 tackles and four interceptions in leading his team to the state quarterfinals with a 10-1 record last fall. He earned first team all-state (Iowa Print Sports Writers and Des Moines Register) honors for the second consecutive year. For his career, Scheidegger totaled 83 tackles and 11 interceptions while receiving all-district accolades two seasons. Scheidegger plans to major in secondary education.

"Chase is a talented, athletic player who will have a positive impact on our football team," commented Northwestern Head Coach Matt McCarty. "He has good instincts and understands the game well. Chase made a ton of plays in the secondary and was a key member for a very good high school team. We are thrilled to have Chase part of our Red Raider football program."
