Mason Vaas of Orange City has committed to wrestle at Northwestern in 2020-21. Vaas, a 5'10'',122 pounder, was a four year letter winner at MOC-Floyd Valley High School. He was 73-60 in his career and ended with a 20-12 senior year where he was a District Qualifier and earned 2nd-Team All-Conference honors. He was team captain his senior year and was the winner of the Heart, Efforts, Attitude, and Discipline award his junior year. Mason will likely wrestle at the 149 pound weight class while at NWC.
" We love what Mason brings to the table," commented head coach Rik Dahl. "This local product is a district qualifier and a team captain. We believe he will bring that same work ethic to our own program and we look forward to see how he grows as a Red Raider!"
Vaas is currently undecided on his major while at Northwestern.
