The West Sioux Board of Education took action on a project that has been under discussion for some time. During a special board meeting on Tuesday they voted to accept a bid from Schwartzle Construction from Tea, SD to place astro turf on Eneboe Field at West Sioux. West Sioux Superintendant Steve Grond says the project would be completed in time for the start of football season next fall. The new turf would be very similar to what the fields in Sioux Center, and Orange City have. The lifespan of the new turf would be around 15 years. The project would also eliminate a lot of the drainage issues that the field has now.

Total cost of that project would be around $955,000, and will be paid for from the school districts physical plant and equipment levy.
