Highway 60 Accident Injures One

On Thursday, March 26, at 9:08 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriffs Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Highway 60 and Log Avenue in Hospers, IA.
Cody Steinkamp, age 27, of Milford, IA was driving a 2017 Dodge Ram eastbound on Log Avenue; he stopped at the stop sign for Highway 60. April Kress, age 34, of Alton, IA was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu northbound on Highway 60. Steinkamp entered the intersection and the two struck.
Kress was transported by Hospers Ambulance to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.
The Dodge sustained approximately $9,000 in damage. The Chevrolet sustained an estimated $4,000 in damage.
Steinkamp was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.
The sheriffs office was assisted by the Hospers Fire Department, Hospers Ambulance and Iowa State Patrol.
