Governor Kim Reynolds

Governor Kim Reynolds addressed the state this afternoon on the recent updates regarding the states actions to mitigate the Coronavirus. In a conference fraught with technical glitches, the message the governor was conveying is for the public to continue doing their part to slow the spread of the virus by utilizing simple hygienic guidelines.

Reynolds also said the state is monitoring inventory of personal protection equipment used by first responders and medical staff in order to be pro-active, to ward off depletion of supplies. Some areas are requesting donations of personal protection items from businesses and the public in an effort to do the same.

Rumors of Governor Reynolds making a Shelter-In-Place decree were put to rest as she answered a direct question about it. Her response was that Iowans are responsible people, and are responding well to the mitigation requests made state-wide, therefore there is no need for such an order.
