Red Raiders Climb Into Top 10 In NAIA Coaches’ Poll

October 16, 2018

Northwestern 200x200

Northwestern College moved back into the top 10 in this week’s edition of the NAIA Volleyball Coaches’ poll released by the national office earlier today.

On a three-match win streak, including a sweep against then-No.9 Midland last weekend, Northwestern climbed three spots to ninth in the Oct. 16 coaches’ poll. This is the second highest ranking of the season (T7th in preseason) for Coach Van Den Bosch’s squad, who joins four other teams from the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) recognized in today’s poll; Dordt (5), Midland (12), Hastings (14) and Jamestown (RV).

Park (Mo.) continues its hold on the top spot in the coaches’ poll, receiving 17 of the 21 possible first place votes. The Pirates are one of two unbeaten teams left in the NAIA and have not dropped a set all year. Grand View, the other unbeaten team, is second, followed by Missouri Baptist, Columbia (Mo.) and Dordt.

Northwestern, 19-5 on the year, goes for its 20th win of the season as they travel to Mount Marty Wednesday night, Oct. 17.
