Northwestern College head football coach Matt McCarty and his coaching staff announced 29 players have committed to continue their football careers for the Red Raiders (as of Feb. 3, National Signing Day).

All of the players who have signed at this point are listed below; some of them have been already released to the media by the Northwestern Sports Information Office prior to this date and can be found in more detail here: 2016 Football Recruits Page. The rest will be released in more detail when information comes available.

“We have an outstanding class at this point,” comments head coach Matt McCarty. “I am very proud of our staff and the work they have done recruiting an excellent group of young men who will excel on and off the field at Northwestern. These young men all recognize Northwestern’s unique combination of academic and athletic excellence. We are excited to help develop these young men to use their God-given talent to serve their teammates, this campus, and the world. We will continue to add players in the coming weeks who are excited about the direction of Red Raider football.”

Offense:

“We firmly believe successful football starts with great line play. This class of offensive linemen has the potential to push our returners right away and as a group serve as the foundation for future success. We’ve also added some key talent in the skill positions that we think will help us develop an exciting future for the Raider Offense.”

Defense:

“We have a talented, blue collar group of young men who fit the mold of Northwestern Defenses. We have players at every position group in this class that will be impact players. We are extremely excited to work with this entire group and see what they can accomplish as Raiders!”
