George man arrested in Inwood after report of shots fired

A GEORGE MAN WAS ARRESTED AFTER THE LYON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATED A 9-1-1 CALL OF GUN SHOTS BEING FIRED ON SOUTH MAIN STREET IN INWOOD ON SATURDAY NIGHT. WHILE ENROUTE, DEPUTIES ALSO RECEIVED REPORTS FROM PEOPLE INSIDE THEIR RESIDENCES OF A PERSON YELLING AND CURSING OUTSIDE. UPON ARRIVAL AT THE SCENE DEPUTIES LOCATED 27 YEAR OLD ADAM MURPHY OF GEORGE. THE GUN SHOTS REPORTED BY MURPHY WERE ALLEGEDLY FALSE. MURPHY WAS PLACED UNDER ARREST FOR FALSE REPORTING, FALSELY CLAIMING AN EMERGENCY, POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, PUBLIC INTOXICATION, AND DISORDERLY CONDUCT. MURPHY WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE LYON COUNTY JAIL.
