Upgrades to Northwestern facilities making progress

THE FACILITY UPGRADES FOR THE NORTHWESTERN ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT HAVE MADE SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS SINCE THE END OF JULY. THE NETTING IN JUFFER FIELDHOUSE IS NEARLY COMPLETE AND THE BASEBALL DIAMOND IS GETTING PREPARED FOR TURF ON THE INFIELD.

THE OTHER RENOVATIONS AT THE BASEBALL DIAMOND ARE WELL UNDERWAY AS WELL, THE NEW CONCRETE BACKSTOP WALL HAS BEEN POURED AND THE NEW PRESSBOX IS GOING UP QUICKLY. THE RENOVATIONS AT THE FIELD WILL FORCE THE BASEBALL TEAM TO PLAY THEIR FALL SEASON IN GRANVILLE THIS FALL BUT IS EXPECTED TO BE AVAILABLE TO THE TEAM IN THE SPRING IN APRIL, THE COLLEGE, MOC-FLOYD VALLEY COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE CITY OF ORANGE CITY ANNOUNCED THAT THEY HAD AGREED TO SIGNIFICANT UPGRADES TO THE BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL COMPLEX AT MOC-FV HIGH SCHOOL. THE INCLUDES A NEW POURED CONCRETE, PADDED BACKSTOP WITH TENSION NETTING SYSTEM, AND SEPARATE PRESS BOXES WITH ADDITIONAL STORAGE SPACE AT BOTH FACILITIES. THE SOFTBALL FIELD WILL ALSO SEE IMPROVEMENTS TO INFIELD DRAINAGE, NEW FOUL LINE FENCES, OUTFIELD OVER-SEEDING, AND IMPROVED BULLPEN AND PRACTICE INFIELD AREA. THE BASEBALL FIELD WILL REPLACE THE CURRENT NATURAL SURFACE WITH 30,000 SQUARE FEET OF FIELDTURF ON THE INFIELD. A NEW RIGHT-FIELD FOUL LINE FENCE WILL ALSO BE INSTALLED AND THE OUTFIELD WILL BE LEVELED AND RE-SEEDED.

JUFFER FIELDHOUSE HAS A DEDICATION CEREMONY PLANNED ON OCTOBER 2ND, 2015 ON HOMECOMING WEEKEND.
