Only One Contested School Board Seat In Sioux County

WHEN VOTERS HEAD TO THE POLLS NEXT MONTH FOR SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS, JUST ONE RACE IN SIOUX COUNTY WILL BE CONTESTED. LISA TE SLAA HAS FILED PAPERS TO RUN AGAINST INCUMBENT JAKE TEN HAKEN FOR THE BOYDEN-HULL COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT #3 SEAT.

ONE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD SEAT IS WITHOUT A CANDIDATE. TIM MCKENNEY HAS OPTED NOT TO RUN FOR RE-ELECTION TO THE WEST SIOUX COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD. THE DEADLINE TO FILE PAPERS PASSED JULY 30TH WITH NO ONE SEEKING TO REPLACE MCKENNEY IN DISTRICT #3.

DANIELLE D. GRADERT WILL BE RUNNING UNOPPOSED FOR WEST SIOUX DISTRICT #4 AFTER INCUMBENT DAWN HAMMEL CHOSE NOT TO SEEK RE-ELECTION. BRUCE SCHUTT WILL ALSO NOT RUN FOR RE-ELECTION IN DISTRICT #1 FOR THE MOC-FLOYD VALLEY SCHOOL BOARD. CHRIS IMMEKER WILL BE RUNNING FOR THAT POSITION UNOPPOSED.

THE REMAINDER OF THE SCHOOL BOARD SEATS UP FOR ELECTION IN SIOUX COUNTY THIS CYCLE HAVE INCUMBENTS RUNNING UNOPPOSED: JASON MOSER AND ARIC VAN VOORST FOR BOYDEN-HULL, AMY KLEINHESSELINK AND SHANE JAGER FOR MOC-FLOYD VALLEY, JERRY KELDERMAN AND JAMES VAN VELDHUIZEN FOR ROCK VALLEY, TIMOTHY GESINK AND SCOTT TE STROETE FOR SIOUX CENTER AND RUSS COONS FOR WEST SIOUX.

ALSO, ALL FOUR NORTHWEST IOWA COMMUNITY COLLEGE BOARD OF DIRECTOR POSITIONS UP FOR ELECTION HAVE THE INCUMBENTS RUNNING UNOPPOSED: STEPHEN SIMONS, LORETTA BERKLAND, ADAM BESAW AND LEROY VAN KEKERIX.

THE 2015 SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS ARE TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH.
