Feed Truck Roll-over Accident

THE SIOUX COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATED AN ACCIDENT EARLY FRIDAY MORNING A MILE NORTH OF SIOUX CENTER. THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE SAYS THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED ABOUT 3:30am, ON HARRISION AVENUE. 28 YEAR OLD IRVING RUIZ OF SIOUX CENTER WAS DRIVING A FEED TRUCK SOUTHBOUND ON HARRISON AVENUE WHEN HE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE TRUCK ENTERED THE WEST DITCH WHERE IT ROLLED ONTO ITS SIDE. RUIZ WAS TRANSPORTED BY THE SIOUX CENTER AMBULANCE TO THE SIOUX CENTER HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT OF HIS INJURIES. RUIZ WAS CITED FOR FAILURE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, AND OPERATING A COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLE WITH A SUSPENDED DRIVER’S LICENSE. THERE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75-THOUSAND-DOLLARS IN DAMAGES TO THE FEED TRUCK. THE SIOUX COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE WAS ASSISTED BY THE SIOUX CENTER POLICE DEPARTMENT, SIOUX CENTER FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND SIOUX CENTER AMBULANCE.
