No power in Merrill after Semi hits pole

THE TOWN OF MERRILL WAS WITHOUT POWER FOR SEVERAL HOURS ON WEDNESDAY MORNING AFTER A SEMI STRUCK A UTILITY POLE. THE PLYMOUTH COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE RECEIVED A 9-1-1 CALL AT ABOUT 3:51am ON WEDNESDAY ABOUT A SEMI THAT WAS ON ITS SIDE ON HGIHWAY 75 NEAR MERRILL. THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE SAYS THE SEMI WAS TRAVELING SOUTH ON HIGHWAY 75 WHEN THE DRIVER, MARK NIELSEN OF BROOKLYN CENTER, MINNESOTA BECAME FATIGUED, AND LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND STRUCK THE UTILITY POLE. NIELSEN WAS NOT INJURIED.
