BOYDEN TEEN INJURED IN SWIMMING POOL ACCIDENT

A TEMPORARY FUNDRAISING ACCOUNT HAS BEEN SET UP AT PEOPLES BANK IN ROCK VALLEY FOR A BOYDEN-HULL/ROCK VALLEY BASEBALL PLAYER WHO WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED IN A SWIMMING ACCIDENT ON FRIDAY. JONATHAN LUEVANO, A JUNIOR OUTFIELDER ON THE BOYDEN-HULL/ROCK VALLEY BASEBALL TEAM WAS INJURED AFTER DIVING INTO A FRIEND’S POOL. HE BROKE THE C-5 VERTEBRAE, WHICH IS WHERE THE SPINAL COLUMN CONTROLS THE ARMS AND LEGS. HE IS CURRENTLY RECOVERING IN A SIOUX FALLS HOSPITAL, BUT HAS NO FEELING IN ONE LEG, AND ONLY TINGLING IN THE OTHER. LUEVANO IS THE SON OF HUMBERTO AND LUPE LUEVANO OF BOYDEN. IN ADDITION TO THE ACCOUNT AT PEOPLES BANK, THE BOYDEN-HULL/ROCK VALLEY BASEBALL TEAM IS SELLING T-SHIRTS, AND THE TEAM WILL WEAR THEM FOR WARMUPS THE REST OF THE SEASON. THE NIGHTHAWKS PLAY AT SIOUX CENTER ON THURSDAY NIGHT, AND SIOUX CENTER PLAYERS WILL WEAR THE SAME SHIRTS DURING WARMUPS, AND A HAT WILL BE PASSED DURING THE GAME FOR DONATIONS.
