Dordt Building Dedication Speakers Include Chuck Grassley and Mike Naig

Dordt University will host a dedication and tours of three new buildings recently constructed at the Agriculture Stewardship Center (ASC) Saturday morning. US Senator Chuck Grassley, the longest serving U.S. senator in Iowa history, will speak at the dedication, as well as Iowa Secretary of Agriculture, Mike Naig, Dordt faculty, and students.

The buildings to be dedicated include the monoslope, a greenhouse, and the commodity storage building. The new monoslope building gives students a large lab space to work with live animals such as beef cattle, calves, and dairy heifers. The three-season greenhouse will allow agriculture students and faculty to start planting from seed early in the spring and maintain the plants through late fall. The commodity storage building is used to store feed for the animals.

The event will be held Saturday morning at the Agriculture Stewardship Center located north of Sioux Center along Highway 75. The event begins at 11am, with tours following the presentation.
