Two Vehicle Accident West of Sioux Center Causes Minor Injuries To Both Drivers

A two-vehicle accident west of Sioux Center caused minor injuries west of Sioux Center. The accident happened at 2:59 p.m., on 400th Street.

65 year-old Randall Tietgen of Sioux Center, was travelling southbound on Goldfinch Avenue. 19 year-old Nerik Montes-Topte of Hawarden west on 400th Street. The two struck in the intersection.

Tietgen and Montes-Topete both reported minor injuries and each sought medical treatment on their own.

The Tietgen vehicle sustained approximately $9,000 in damage. Montes-Topetes vehicle sustained an estimated $3,000 in damage.

Tietgen was cited for failing to obey a stop sign. Montes-Topete was cited for failing to have motor vehicle accident liability insurance.

The sheriffs office was assisted by the Sioux Center ambulance.
