Authorities have now identified a Sioux City man as the victim of a fatal two-vehicle accident that happened near Le Mars, Christmas Eve.

The Plymouth County Sheriff's Office says 26-year-old Evan Nettleton died from his injuries in the accident. The second driver is identified as 42-year-old Timothy Wolfswinkel, of Dallas Center, Iowa.

Wolfswinkel was traveling with his four-year-old and five-year-old daughters at the time. Wolfswinkel and his daughters suffered minor injuries.

At 11:41 Christmas Eve morning, the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office was notified of a two-vehicle accident at the interstation of C70 and K49, which is 10 miles south of Le Mars.

According to the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office, a Chevy Equinox driven by Nettleton was traveling westbound on C70 while a GMC pickup driven by Wolfswinkel was traveling northbound on K49.

Authorities say for an unknown reason the Wolfswinkel failed to stop at the stop sign, hitting the Nettletons vehicle at the intersection.

They say alcohol was not a factor in the accident, and the accident remains under investigation.
